KUALA LUMPUR: A video of a motorcycle convoy violating traffic laws by driving against traffic flow and posing danger on the road has gone viral on social media.
The footage posted on TikTok by user @muhammad74_7 showed a large group of motorcyclists blatantly disregarding traffic rules, weaving through oncoming vehicles.
The convoy can be seen travelling in the opposite direction on the three-lane road, forcing cars and other vehicles to swerve to avoid collisions.
This reckless manoeuvre created a hazardous situation for all road users, as the motorcyclists appeared to be unconcerned with the potential consequences of their actions.
The blatant disregard for traffic laws displayed by the motorcyclists had been widely condemned by the public.
The video had so far gained 86.9K views on TikTok and also went viral on other social media platforms.
The video was also shared by user @update11111 on X, causing outrage among netizens.
User @muhamadahjiz said: "How can people fear the law if it's just words on the book?
"There is no law without any enforcement. To make people respect the law, show them the consequences of breaking it. If they don't feel the heat, they'll keep playing with fire."
Another user @thedanialhaimi shared the same sentiment and said: "They treat the law like a joke. No matter how many times they get caught, illegal street racers keep coming back, undeterred."
The New Straits Times has reached out to the police on the matter.
