KUALA LUMPUR: A Netizen expressed his condolences today to his favourite "putu mayam" seller, who died last month in a road accident.
Facebook user Syahril Kadir, a former journalist, said: "Earlier, a 'putu mayam' seller drove by. I felt like ordering, but when he took off his helmet, it wasn't Mani. It was someone else.
"Mani was the most famous 'putu mayam' seller in Damansara and Kepong."
Syahril added: "I asked the (new seller), 'Where's Mani? Isn't he working?' His face suddenly changed."
He said the seller had told him that Mani died last month in an accident and his body had been sent back to his native India.
"I was shocked. I still remember his friendliness. His 'putu mayam' wasn't special, but his manners and smile made Mani famous."
He said he had checked on TikTok about Mani's accident.
"Mani may be gone, but his memory and the warmth he brought to those around him will live on.
"Rest in peace, Mani. 'Putu mayam' won't be the same without you."
Netizen Ella Affandy said: "I saw a video about his friendliness on TikTok, but a few days later, news of his death spread. I was quite shocked."
Aryan Hayati said: "I passed by the scene of the accident that morning. 'Putu mayam' was scattered all over the road, and I saw a body. It was heartbreaking to see — an accident while trying to earn a living."
