KOTA BARU: A video clip of a secondary school student allegedly slapping and kicking another student in a classroom is making its rounds on social media, drawing criticism from netizens.
In the video, the boy, believed to be from a secondary school in Kelantan, is slapping and kicking the other boy repeatedly on his face.
The victim, however, did not fight back and was only seen moving back after each slap and kick.
The student who kicked and slapped him was seen to challenge him to fight but he refused.
All students in the video are boys and all were clad in sports attire usually worn for Physical Education or sports activities.
At one point, there were some students in the classroom who asked the student who slapped the victim to stop and to solve whatever problem that spurred the incident, in a nice way.
However, other students were seen making jokes about what was happening and encouraged the student to continue hitting the victim.
Then there were others who were getting themselves within view of the camera which was capturing the footage. They smiled to the camera and made brief remarks while the 'attack' took place behind them.
The 54-second video, was uploaded by CIKYANIE on herX account (formerly known as Twitter) and so far, garnered about 10,500 views.
Cikyanie urged the parent or guardian of the boy who got hit to lodge a police report on the attacker.
"If your child was the victim who has been bullied by the student, you should come forward by lodging a police report so that those involve can be charged.
"If your children witness the incident, please ask them to give their cooperation so that the student who slapped and kicked the victim can be identified," she said.
The viral video sparked anger among netizens.
Some social media users in the comments section urged the victim to file a police report, with some tagging the police and the Education Ministry.
@PuteriMinang commented the attitude of students nowadays are really bad.
@KSyah75 said: "If this happened to me son, I will definitely slap the student in the black T-shirt (refering to the student slapping the other) in front of his parents.
"If his father tries to defend him, l will slap the father too.l'm not afraid of anybody," she said.
