KUALA LUMPUR: A video that went viral today showing alleged school bullies in a school restroom has sparked outrage among internet.
In the 1 minute 21 second footage, one of the girls was telling the victim not to cry.
Another alleged bully, wearing a green shirt, threatened to slap the victim three times, while another girl said she would slap her twice.
She also told the victim that she would "help cover" the victim's face. After the first slap, the other girls cautioned her not to hit too hard.
The girl was supposed to slap twice, but then said she would only slap once.
The victim was observed tearing up, nodding and enduring the slaps without fighting back against the alleged bullies.
Several Facebook users in the comments section urged the victim to file a police report, with some tagging the police and the Education Ministry's Facebook profile.
@Chan Kuang Yu commented: "Let the police take action against all those involved. No mercy, let this be a lesson for all students."
@Yongquan Ng said: "Fadhlina Sidek (the education minister), please take action against the school bullying case in SMJK Krian Parit Buntar."
@Chin Wei Yeoh said: "These bullied girls got what they wanted. You wanted attention, now you are famous. So do not hide your faces in public.
"Remember, it's not just you who feel shame. You've embarrassed your family and relatives with this viral video."
The New Straits Times has reached out to the Education Ministry for comments.
