KUALA LUMPUR: A video showing a young girl left unattended and motionless in the backseat of a locked car at a shopping mall parking lot in Sarawak has gone viral.
The video, posted by user @update11111 but originally uploaded by @John.soo, shows a crowd gathering around a Perodua Viva at the Mydin parking lot in Samariang, trying to unlock it.
A young woman, who identified herself as the girl's cousin, arrives and hands over the keys to open the door. Upon opening it, the girl, who had been asleep, woke up groggily, much to the relief of the crowd.
The video has sparked outrage among netizens over the perceived negligence and indifference of the guardian.
"How can she just grin at what happened?," asked user Mandondang777.
Another user, shah_nasrul, pointed out, "If she went shopping, where is the shopping cart? Or is she just strolling around, leaving a child behind?"
Meanwhile, eamir_emre simply remarked, "Leisurely walking," highlighting the woman's seemingly nonchalant attitude.
