KUALA LUMPUR: A groom's calm demeanour in the face of his bride's no-show opened the floodgates of sympathy for the jilted man.
The groom's family decided to proceed with the ceremony without the bride, leaving guests stunned with the turn of events.
A viral TikTok video, believed to have been posted by the groom himself under the user @demflacco, captured the emotional moment as he addressed guests at the ceremony.
Despite the heartache, the groom, known as Adam, dressed in his wedding attire, delivered a speech, in which his relatives were unable to hold back their tears.
"Assalamualaikum, good afternoon. I want to thank Allah for allowing us to be here, even though the original plans didn't go as expected.
"Thank you for taking the time to gather here, and don't let our sadness stop you all from enjoying yourselves today."
The groom's calm and composed demeanour touched the hearts of many as he went on to apologise for any confusion or inconvenience caused by the sudden turn of events.
"We couldn't avoid what happened; it's all part of Allah's plan. Thank you and enjoy the meal," he finished.
The video, only posted earlier this morning had garnered over 2.3 million viewers with netizens consoling the man after the bride's no-show.
