KUALA LUMPUR: A heartwarming video of a man rescuing a dog from the roadside has gone viral, prompting netizens to celebrate Malaysians' willingness to help both people and animals in need.
The video, shared on TikTok by @alif_bosku, shows a dog with its hind leg trapped in a broken culvert, lying down and seemingly pleading for help.
The caption explains that after discovering the trapped dog early in the morning and unsuccessfully trying to free it with a wooden stick, the user called his friend for assistance.
Together, they worked carefully, with the friend covering his hand with a plastic bag while gently pushing the dog's hind leg out of the culvert.
After being rescued, the dog looked gratefully at the two men who had come to its rescue.
User @cikbungaross commented: "The poor dog is shaking; thank you so much, you're a kind person."
@secretchinta also expressed gratitude to the men in the video, urging them to "make sure the dog gets some food to eat", as it had likely been stuck there for days.
Meanwhile, netizens also voiced their sympathy over the dog's condition.
User @sarimah.ahmad7 said: "The poor dog; he must be in pain as you can see his foot is swollen."
Another user, @alisiako4, asked whether the dog was able to walk after the incident, to which @alif_bosku replied that he saw the dog running later that day.
