SERI ALAM: Police today (Oct 24) refuted claims that a motorist fled the scene of an accident in Taman Desa Jaya here on Oct 20.
This was after he crashed into a motorcyclist at an intersection at Jalan Lembah 20 and Jalan Lembah 22.
A 15-second video uploaded on social media platforms, titled "hit and run in Taman Desa Jaya", showed only part of the accident, said police.
The clip was from a closed-circuit television camera installed at a house near the intersection.
District police chief Superintendent Mohd Sohaimi Ishak said the driver had stopped his vehicle about 300m from the accident scene and returned to it on foot.
In the 6.20pm accident, the Toyota Vios driver, 63, who was traveling from Taman Desa Jaya to Taman Johor Jaya, crashed into a motorcyclist and his pillion rider, who were heading straight at the intersection.
"The male motorcyclist, 42, and his pillion rider, 12, sustained minor injuries.
Both motorists lodged reports and are cooperating with the investigation."
