KUALA LUMPUR: A Budiman Football Club (FC) player was caught on video punching an Amna FC player during a match yesterday. The incident reportedly occurred in the 57th minute of the Arena Champion League semi-final match at the Arena Mutiara Johor Land.
It began when an Amna FC player, wearing jersey number 10, managed to steal the ball from a Budiman FC player, wearing jersey number 23. As the Amna FC player attempted to dribble the ball towards the sideline, the Budiman player, chasing from behind, punched him.
The act prompted a tense situation as Amna FC players, including those on the bench, expressed outrage over the violent conduct. The referee promptly issued a red card to Budiman FC's number 23 in an effort to defuse the tension and prevent further escalation.
The match concluded with a 3-2 victory for Amna FC over Budiman FC, securing their spot in the final against Ozzy FC, who had defeated Pantherz FC in another semi-final match.
