KUALA LUMPUR: The devastating ethnic riots that broke out in Malaysia on May 13, 1969 can happen again if DAP continues to manipulate Malaysians for the sake of its political gain.
Parti Cinta Malaysia (PCM) deputy president Datuk Huan Cheng Guan said DAP's antics in instilling hate among Malaysians would only divide the people.
"The country is safer without DAP. The party tries to break the unity between the Malays, Chinese and Indians.
"They do not have the spirit of love for the country, they are mad for power and are willing to do anything to gain support even if they have to criticise their own country," he said during an Umno online discussion held at Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC ) here on Wednesday.
Cheng also said DAP had blatantly voiced out their opinions without fear as they knew they could not be charged under the Internal Security Act (ISA) which has been repealed.
Meanwhile, programme moderator, Umno information chief, Tan Sri Annuar Musa said Malaysia, under the leadership of Barisan Nasional, practices a simple political ideology that needs to be defended from falling into the hands of the opposition.
He added, he could not visualise Malaysia being under a DAP-led party, and such a scenario should not be an alternative for the people to even consider.
The programme also highlighted on how Malaysia, and Malaysians, would suffer should DAP lead the country.
Huan said, DAP was extremely manipulative and Penangites had suffered tremendously, taken in by the sweet words and empty promises that the party had offered.
"Their slogan 'Cleaner, Greener Penang' is a lie. Look what happened to many of the hills there? Many have been torn down to make way for development, thus causing the state to be hit by the floods.
"The Malays are also being marginalised with Malay squatters being abolished," he said adding that DAP is a party with no direction.
For one, they are being "buddy" with former premier Tun Dr Mahathir Muhamad despite their history of rivalry.
Annuar then added that DAP practices chauvinism and "hate politics".
"Instilling hate in people's heart and minds are easier than inculcating patriotism," he said.
Also present at the discussion was former DAP member, Mohamed Razali Abdul Rahman.
