Kuala Langat BN candidate has gameplan for the constituency

SHAH ALAM: Shahril Sufian Hamdan, who has been fielded for the Kuala Langat Parliamentary seat is all set to face the task of transforming the constituency into a developed area.

The Umno Youth executive council member who is one of the young candidates chosen by Selangor BN to contest in the coming 14th General Election (GE14) is determined to bring positive changes and committed to improving the socio-economic status of the people there.

“My hopes and aspirations at this point is to put Kuala Langat back on the map, to be an iconic area for the people of Selangor and Malaysians.

“In the past 10 years, we have missed opportunities to leverage on all the different assets in the area and promote it.

“We will also work towards increasing employment and income generating opportunities for the people here. That is going to be my aim,” he said.

Shahril, who is also Destini Oil Services Chief Executive Officer, stressed that the people needed a member of Parliament and assemblyman who were willing to fight for locals.

“And my offering will be that me and my other BN colleagues, namely Sulaiman Karli who will be contesting in Sijangkang; Ng Siok Hwa in Banting and Rozana Kamarulzaman in Morib, will work as a package to fight for the people and provide better opportunities and growth.

“It will be far better that what they have had in the past 10 years,” he said.

Selangor BN today unveiled its line-up of candidates to contest in all 22 Parliamentary and 56 state seats in Selangor.

The list included 63 new candidates, comprising 56 fresh candidates who will be making their debut in GE14 and seven returning candidates, whose names were dropped in GE13.

On Selangor BN having about 70 per cent new candidates, Shahril - who is a London School of Economics and Political Science graduate, described it as an encouraging move because the line-up had a mix of new blood and more experienced candidates.
