DPM: Dr Mahathir will admit himself into hospital to gain sympathy on polling day

BAGAN DATUK: Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said the opposition is allegedly planning to admit former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad into hospital to gain sympathy votes on polling day.

He said this was among the “last minute attack plans” by the opposition to gain sympathy votes from the people, namely in Langkawi.

“I hope that voters will not fall victim to this tactic. Recently, Dr Mahathir also claimed that the aircraft he was supposed to fly in was sabotaged.

“However, the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM) Datuk Seri Azharuddin A Rahman in his statement has professionally explained that there was no evidence of aircraft sabotage as claimed (by Dr Mahathir),” he told reporters after attending Majlis Kenduri Sekampung at Kampung Pasang Api here today.

Present were BN’s candidate for the Rungkup state seat Datuk Shahrul Zaman Yahya and Information Department director-general Datuk Ibrahim Abd Rahman.

“There will be more tactics in the run up to polling day. We know him. His strategy and tactics may change but the aim is to confuse voters, gain sympathy as well as to put the blame on others.

“Thus, I hope the voters will not fall for such tactics,” he said.

Zahid further said Dr Mahathir could ask an independent body or international company to look at the CAAM report.

“By right, Dr Mahathir should have accepted the explanation given by the respective authorities and he should believe in the system.”
