BN's Liang Teck Meng fails to defend Simpang Renggam seat

SIMPANG RENGGAM: Simpang Renggam incumbent member of parliament Datuk Liang Teck Meng lost to PKR candidate, Dr Maszlee Malik by a majority of 3,475 votes.

Maszlee garnered 18,157 votes, followed by Liang (14,682 votes), and Pas’ Mohd Jubri Selamat and 2,983 votes.

For Machap state constituency, BN’s Abd Taib Abu Bakar retains the seat for the second term with 9,375 votes, defeating PKR’s Ahmad Ahem who garnered 8,971 votes, and Pas’ Azlisham Azhar (1,630 votes).

Abd Taib won with a 404-majority.

A newcomer in 14th General Election (GE14), Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi (BN), won the Layang-layang constituency with 7,449 votes, defeating PKR’s candidate, M. S. Murugan with a majority of 336 votes.

Murugan obtained 7,085 votes, while Pas’ Mohd Jubri Selamat garnered 1,339 votes.
