Umno tells Pas not to be arrogant

GEORGE TOWN: Penang Umno liaison chairman Datuk Musa Sheikh Fadzir told Pas not to be arrogant.

He said that the statement by Pas vice president Datuk Mohd Amar Abdullah urging Umno to be dissolved had hurt him and also other party members in the country.

“Pas claims to be an Islamist party, but is it part of Islamic teaching to hurt others?

“How many parliamentary seats did they win? Do not be arrogant, just won two states and they already became arrogant,” he said when contacted today.

Yesterday, Amar said that Umno had no future in the country’s politics and should be dissolved.

NSTP reported that Amar said he had made it clear several times regarding the issue.

Previously Pas president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang also said that Umno was a leaking ship and that Pas would never merge with the party.

Musa stressed that despite the challenging times faced by Umno, not a single branch had been dissolved in Penang since the 14th General Election (GE14).

He said Umno still had pride and Amar’s statement was seen as ‘not walk the talk’.

“They said they wanted to work with Umno but now why are they insulting Umno? Do not say something in front and say something else at the back,” he added.
