Warisan uses local artiste's song for its campaign

KIMANIS: Parti Warisan Sabah (Warisan) has turned to Thomas Intiang’s popular tune “Pembayaran Ansur Ansur” to campaign for Kimanis by-election in support of its candidate Datuk Karim Bujang.

The party was backed by local artistes Abu Bakar Ellah and Francis Landong, who are working to alter the lyrics that would be used as campaign material.

Abu Bakar, also known as Ampal, said both Francis and he as well as party members had thought about changing the lyrics earlier in the day.

“It is not finalised yet, but the chorus will be changed to ‘Kalau mahu senang, undilah parti Warisan’ (If you want a better life, vote for Warisan) and ‘Kalau mahu maju, undilah Karim Bujang, undilah Parti Warisan’ (If you want development, vote for Karim Bujang, vote for Parti Warisan).

“Other changes in the lyrics were also contributed by other members,” Abu Bakar said during the launching of Warisan’s new branch at Kampung Kelatuan prior to the arrival of its president Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal.

Present at the sing-along were Warisan vice-president Datuk Peter Anthony, Kuamut assemblyman Datuk Mahsiung Banah and Kota Belud Member of Parliament Isnaraissah Munirah Majilis.

Meanwhile, a day after Barisan Nasional announced Datuk Mohamad Alamin to stand for the by-election, former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak uploaded an original song on Facebook page to support the candidate.

Titled “Sabah Rakyat punya. Bukan PATI. Tolak PSS!” the 3-minute video highlights issues such as illegal immigrants, Sabah Temporary Pass and allowances and incentives cut.
