GEORGE TOWN: PKR Youth has urged the party leadership to fire its deputy president Datuk Seri Azmin Ali and other leaders said to be involved in the formation of a unity government.
“There should be no forgiveness for those who betray the party's struggles.
“These traitors should not be given any place anywhere,” PKR Youth vice-chief Syed Badli Shah Syed Osman said.
He said he was disappointed with the actions of Azmin.
“It is an act of betrayal in working with the opposition to form a ‘back door’ government.
“Betraying the mandate given by the people by trying to seize a democratically-set up government is a dirty political game,” he added.
He said the opposition should be patient until the next general election is held and not seize power in this manner.
“PKR members who are involved directly in such efforts are going against party ethics by trying to sabotage party unity.
“As such, I urge the party leadership to rescind Azmin’s membership as well as that of the others involved,” he added.
Last night, PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim confirmed speculation that there was a "betrayal".
Met at the Sheraton Hotel yesterday, Azmin had said that the “reformasi” (reform) struggle would be continued despite the infighting between him and Anwar.
