IPOH: Perak state secretary Datuk Ahmad Suaidi Abdul Rahim and a team of legal advisors will seek an audience with Sultan of Perak Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah today.
Besides them, Perak state Assembly Speaker, Datuk Mohamad Zahir Abdul Khalid will also seek an audience with the Sultan at Istana Kinta in Jalan Sultan Nazrin Shah here.
Ahmad Suaidi and the legal advisors are expected to meet Sultan Nazrin at 4.30pm, followed by Mohammad Zahir who will meet the Sultan at 5pm.
According to a source, Mohamad Zahir will inform the Sultan on today's motion of confidence on Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu.
In today's motion of confidence, the Chenderiang assemblyman failed to garner the confidence of assemblymen when only 10 out of 59 backed the motion during the 14th state legislative assembly sitting.
The motion, which was raised by Pengkalan Baharu assemblyman, Datuk Abdul Manaf Hashim, was supported by Temenggor assemblyman, Salbiah Mohamad and Pasir Pinji assemblyman, Howard Lee Chuan How.
During the voting, only 10 assemblymen supported for the motion, while 48 others voted against it and there was one spoiled vote.
However, it is still unknown if Ahmad Faizal will be seeking an audience with the Sultan today.
