IPOH: Perak Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) and Pas assemblymen have been summoned for an audience with the Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah, today.
A member of Dewan Negara Perak, Datuk Seri Mohd Annuar Zaini said the purpose of the audience was for the ruler to hear their stand regarding the appointment of a new menteri besar.
Annuar also said that the the Sultan of Perak is well-aware of the development of the political crisis in the state.
"As such, all assemblymen from Bersatu and Pas have been summoned for an audience with the Sultan today.
"They have been notified on the matter. The Sultan wants to hear their stand on the formation of the new state government," he said.
Annuar added that the swearing-in ceremony would only be held after Sultan Nazrin was convinced that there was a simple majority to form a new state government.
It is learnt that the Bersatu and Pas assemblymen's audience with the ruler would likely take place at about 2.45pm.
Umno president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and Perak Umno chairman Datuk Saarani Mohamad were granted an audience with Sultan Nazrin earlier today.
Ahmad Zahid submitted the names of menteri besar candidates from the party to the ruler.
