KUALA LUMPUR: More opposition elected representatives are expected to follow in the footsteps of former PKR vice-president Datuk Dr Xavier Jayakumar, claimed Umno veteran Tan Sri Annuar Musa.
"There are many more parties and members of parliament who are ready to give support to Perikatan Nasional, not just Dr Xavier.
"Seven or eight of my MP friends have given indications that they are ready to support the government."
He declined to say the parties they were from as he said this would spark "denial".
"Politics is like the laws of physics; for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction so when you say there are people exiting a party you will hear news of people joining and discussions being held."
He, however, said the pull factor was the fact the administration's performance in striking a balance between lives and livelihoods in Malaysia's war against Covid-19.
"This is a success story that many foreign envoys have admitted to."
Dr Xavier who is Kuala Langat MP said he left PKR as he was "extremely frustrated" by the events of the past year.
