KUCHING: Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) today reiterated its support for the PN government under the leadership of Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.
GPS secretary-general Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi said the support was to ensure that all programmes that were put in place for the welfare of the people could be implemented.
He said with the ongoing National Recovery Plan (NRP), GPS was of the view that the focus should be given to make it a success for the sake of the people.
"The NRP was carefully planned for the well-being of the people when the country is facing great challenges due to the current Covid-19 pandemic.
"As such, we want the implementation to be smooth by a stable government, hence why we would continue to support the PN government," he said today.
Nanta said apart from the NRP, the support was to ensure the ongoing Covid-19 National Immunisation Program (NIP) be implemented without interruption.
"We want to achieve the herd immunity according to the set target. To do so, strong support for the government is needed."
Nanta said after almost two years since Covid-19 hit the country, the PN government has been committed to reviving the economy that was badly affected.
"We must focus on reviving the country's economy which is crucial for the well-being of the people," he said.
