Perak PH seat talks reach 90 per cent mark

IPOH: Negotiations on seat distribution involving Perak Pakatan Harapan (PH) component parties for the 15the general election has reached the 90 per cent mark.

Perak PH chairman Datuk Seri Mujahid Yusof Rawa said that the discussion on the distribution of seats involved PH component parties - Amanah, PKR, and DAP.

"When I was given the task to be chairman of the state PH, it was one of our priorities to discuss the distribution of seats by using an easy formula.

"The seats that were previously held by Bersatu (Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia), which is 15 seats, the three parties can discuss which seats they want.

"The seats which were already won or taken by the DAP, PKR, or Amanah are maintained and remain the same," the Parit Buntar member of parliament said in a press conference after attending Perak PH leaders with media practitioners' meeting at the Impiana Hotel here, today.

Mujahid said if there was a need to swap seats held by the previous party - Amanah, PKR, or DAP, then they would discuss it.

"That is what I said between 80 and 90 per cent had already reserved. That 10 per cent with the spirit we have, God willing we can settle it," he said.

Asked if PH is ready to work with the Malaysian United Democratic Alliance (MUDA) for the next general election, Mujahid said PH is open to working with any parties as long as they share the same goal.

"We are open for discussion. If they understand our ambitions, having the same goal, it should be no issue. In Perak, we practice the big tent concept.

"As long as the party wants to see a better Perak, wants to fight against corruption, wants to maintain integrity and governance and yes, definitely, ahlan wasahlan...welcome, let's sit down and let's talk," he said.
