Pas to use new logo for GE15 [NSTTV]

MARANG: Pas is considering not using the Perikatan Nasional (PN) as well as its full moon logo for its candidates in the 15th General Election (GE15).

Its president, Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang, said the Islamist party would use a new logo for its candidates in facing the next GE.

He said the party's senior leadership committee was discussing the change of logo for GE15.

"We are discussing to create a new symbol that is suitable for all candidates to face GE15," he told the media after delivering a lecture at the Rusila Mosque, here, today.

Last Saturday, PN chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin was reported to have said that Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) and Pas had decided to use the PN logo in GE15.

Muhyiddin, who is also the Bersatu president, was reported to have said that the use of the PN logo had been approved by Hadi.

Commenting on the GE15 date, Hadi, who is also the Marang member of parliament, said Pas still adhered to its previous stand that the GE should be held at the end of the parliamentary term next year.

However, he said, if the situation was grave, the GE could be held at any time.

"Maybe GE15 can be held after the tabling of the 2023 budget in October.

"The government needs to study the global economy before deciding to hold GE15," he said.
