KUALA LUMPUR: Rapper Altimet won the Ampang PKR division chief position by obtaining 743 votes, edging out actor and director, Datuk Hans Isaac.
The matter was confirmed by PKR Election Committee Chairman (JPP), Dr Zaliha Mustafa.
"Yes, the decision is final It was uploaded in the PKR 2022 election website last night," she said.
According to the results posted on the website, Altimet won with a mere nine votes against Hans, who got 734 votes.
The decision brings to close various controversies in the division re-election which took place on June 29, including allegations of money politics.
In the first election held for the division, the winner, Daing Muhammad Reduan Bachok was found to be involved in vote buying by the JPP.
Following the revelation, a decision was made to overturn the original election.
Altimet, 43, joined PKR in April last year with artist, Afdlin Shauki.
In the re -election, the other three candidates contesting for the top post were Abdullah Md Zain, Sam Hoo Wai and Abdul Latif Shaari.
Another candidate, Abdul Halim Mohamed Yusof, withdrew from the contest.
