KUALA LUMPUR: Gerakan Tanah Air (GTA) is currently waiting for a signal from PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and Pakatan Harapan (PH) on their decision for a possible cooperation among opposition parties for the 15th General Election (GE15).
Its chairman, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, said he was hoping for a positive response from PH and Anwar, and reiterated his stance that he was ready to meet them at any time.
"We are waiting to see a positive response from them (PH) and Anwar, whether they want to see me or not.
"I have already made it obvious that I am prepared to meet with everybody except, of course, Umno," he said during a press conference in Putrajaya near here today.
Asked if he was disappointed that PH had yet to respond to his offer, Dr Mahathir dismissed the question saying he would wait for feedback.
The former prime minister added that there are many ways PH and Anwar could respond to him, either through a public statement or a personal letter.
"It (reaching out) is very easy to do. PH this time around is not the same as the PH in GE14 because there are only three parties in today's PH since Bersatu (Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia) has pulled out from the pact.
"How PH going to make up for the loss due to (the absence) of Bersatu is entirely up to them."
Dr Mahathir had recently said that GTA, which had not yet obtained approval for its registration, would campaign under the Pejuang flag in GE15.
