MIC leaders will skip Pahang BN candidate announcement

KUANTAN: Pahang MIC leaders will not attend the state Barisan Nasional(BN) candidate announcement this morning.

State MIC chairman V. Arumugam said he was on his way to Kuala Lumpur to attend the party's central working committee meeting this morning.

"I was informed about the meeting last night. I have notified Pahang BN chairman (Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail) that I will be absent," he said when contacted.

It is learnt that the party's no-show today will not jeopardise its chances to contest in Sabai, its traditional state seat.

Meanwhile, a source said MIC division chiefs and their supporters were told not to attend the event until the party central working committee concludes its meeting today.

Even the MIC candidate for Sabai will not be attending, the souce said.

Last night, MIC parliamentary candidates did not attend the BN candidate announcement at Kuala Lumpur World Trade Centre.

Party president Tan Sri S.A. Vigneswaran was reported as saying that MIC will hold an emergency meeting at 10am today.

Pahang MIC will be only contesting the Sabai state seat in GE15.
