SUBANG JAYA: Pakatan Harapan chairman Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has claimed that the coalition has secured a simple majority of 111 seats in the 15th General Election.
This came not long after Perikatan Nasional chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin hinted at being able to form a coalition government but rejected working with PH.
Anwar, speaking to reporters at Grand Dorsett Subang where the coalition was holding its GE15 viewing party, said it was impossible for PN to form the government.
He said PH had already secured agreements from "several quarters" to support the coalition in its bid to form the federal government.
The PKR president, however, refused to reveal whose support PH had secured, adding that all would be revealed after he receives an audience with the Yang di-Pertuan Agong.
"We have conducted a series of meetings and we have managed to get the agreement of a few members of parliament to form a government.
"Muhyiddin (PN) cannot form the federal government as we (PH) have eight written agreements.
"These agreements involve several parties to form a simple majority, subject to the consent of the King," he said.
Asked if the coalition would collaborate with Gabungan Parti Sarawak and Gabungan Rakyat Sabah to form a federal government, he declined comment.
He added that any collaboration with other political coalitions to form the federal government will be revealed after getting the King's consent.
When asked about his comment on rumours relating to a PN-Barisan Nasional collaboration, Anwar said that he does not entertain rumours.
"I will not entertain rumours and we will make the decision based on the facts (that we have)," he said.
