KUALA LUMPUR: Former Selangor Umno liaison committee chief Tan Sri Noh Omar said his sacking from the party came just three days before he was slated to face the disciplinary board.
Noh, who was among two sacked by the party last night, said he was dumbfounded at how his initial six-year suspension turned into a termination.
"I've been labelled as a guilty person even before I had the chance to face the Umno disciplinary board.
"This is historic. I was issued a showcause letter and called to face the board on Monday, but surprisingly, even before that could take place, I was sacked," he said in a Facebook post today in response to Umno's decision to sack him along with another leader for allegedly sabotaging the party during the 15th General Election.
Umno had last night confirmed that Noh and Khairy Jamaluddin have been sacked from the party for offences committed during GE15.
Party secretary-general Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan said five members from the Pasir Gudang Umno division, nine from the Putrajaya Umno division, two from the Tanjung Karang Umno division and 26 from Pahang Umno, were also sacked.
Among their offences were standing as independent candidates, being candidates of parties other than Barisan Nasional (BN) and helping the opposition parties during GE15.
