TUMPAT: The three states under Pas rule are expected to dissolve their state assemblies to pave the way for the state elections in June.
Pas vice president Datuk Mohd Amar Nik Abdullah said the states were Kelantan, Kedah and Terengganu.
The deputy Menteri Besar said he was informed that the three other states - Negri Sembilan, Penang and Selangor - which are under Pakatan Harapan, had also agreed to dissolve their state assemblies in June.
"Kelantan has already decided to dissolve the state assembly at the end of June and I was told the date for the dissolution for the five states will take place in stages but all will take place in June," he told reporters when met at the Menteri Besar Datuk Ahmad Yakob's Hari Raya open house here today.
Mohd Amar said the state elections would be held in July if all the six states have dissolved their state assemblies.
On the preparations thus far, he said the state governments were making all the necessary preparations to face the state election.
"We (Pas) has already submitted the list of candidates and we will leave it to Menteri Besar Datuk Ahmad Yakob for the final decision," he added.
On seat distribution, he said Pas would be contesting in the seats that it had won previously in the 15th General Election (GE15).
"We also have agreed that the seats won by Barisan Nasional (BN) in GE15 will be contested by Bersatu candidates," he added.
