KUALA LUMPUR: The seat negotiations between Barisan Nasional and Pakatan Harapan for the upcoming elections in six states are in the final stages, with both coalitions expected to meet by the end of the month.
BN chairman and Umno president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said Umno and its allies in BN are in the process of finalising their seat negotiations.
"We (BN) are in the process of finalising the seat negotiations amongst us. Once the matter has been finalised, BN will meet PH to discuss the seat negotiations between the two coalitions," he told reporters.
Asked when BN and PH will meet to finalise the matter, Zahid said it was likely to be held by the end of the month.
"However, this depends on the availability of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, who is also the chairman of the unity government secretariat," he said. -- Reporting by Adib Povera, Hana Naz Harun, Nor Ain Mohamed Radhi, Qistina Sallehuddin
