SHAH ALAM: The issue of overlapping seats between Pakatan Harapan (PH) and Barisan Nasional (BN) in several states including Selangor in the coming state elections, which cannot be decided at state level, will be resolved by the parties' top leadership.
Selangor Menteri Besar, Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari, said the matter will be decided upon by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, who is PKR president, as well as Umno president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
He said apart from Selangor, some seats, such as in Negri Sembilan, Penang and Terengganu have yet to be decided on.
"I believe this will be decided by the PKR and Umno presidents because the discussions at state level have concluded.
"Some seats have yet to be finalised but it's a very small number," he told reporters at a press conference to mark the Selangor administration's five-year anniversary he
It was previously reported that two state seats in Selangor have yet to be finalised between PH and BN ahead of the state polls.
As of Sunday, 95 per cent of the seat distributions have been completed.
Meanwhile, Amirudin said PH's cooperation with the Malaysian United Democratic Alliance (Muda) will continue in the state election, as per their agreement during the 15th General Election (GE15).
However, he said the number of seats Muda will contest will be decided by the PH presidential council.
