KOTA BARU: Caretaker deputy menteri besar Datuk Mohd Amar Nik Abdullah today said he will leave it to Allah on his future position in the state government.
The candidate for the Panchor state seat said holding his current post was a big responsibility and he felt that it was already enough.
"The burden is heavy, but we do not know God's provisions," said Mohd Amar who is Pas vice-president.
He said for Kelantan Pas, the menteri besar's post issue was not important at the moment.
"The important thing is that firstly, Pas and Perikatan Nasional win in the coming state election. This should be done before we discuss about that issue.
"The menteri besar's post for states is normally decided by the Pas central leadership, particularly the party president. After that, we need to get the consent of the ruler.
"We cannot choose a person to be menteri besar without getting consent from the ruler," he said.
Mohd Amar was commenting on the list of menteri besar candidates submitted by Kelantan Barisan Nasional (BN) to its party leaders.
BN chairman Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi had yesterday confirmed that the party has received a list of potential candidates for the Kelantan Menteri Besar's post if Barisan Nasional won in the Aug 12 state election.
The deputy prime minister however, said he would not reveal the names yet now.
The list, he said contained several names of potential candidates and he will only announce the names when the time comes as BN does not want to be ahead of the ruler.
