KUALA LUMPUR: The mandate given to parties in the unity government following the outcome of the state elections will be the catalyst for the coalition to enhance cooperation and fulfill its five year term of office, Barisan Nasional (BN) chairman Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said.
He said BN along with its partners in the unity government respected the outcome of the polls, which had seen Penang, Selangor and Negeri Sembilan returned to Pakatan Harapan (PH) governance.
"I congratulate all the candidates who won. I hope they will continue serving the people to the best of their capabilities.
"To those who did not succeed, they should remain steadfast and not give up at a time we are facing all kind of challenges," he said in a statement.
Zahid also thanked those who had fulfilled their responsibilities by casting votes, while also thanking the BN election machinery for their dedication in ensuring the coalition's campaign success.
