KUALA LUMPUR: Umno Supreme Council member Datuk Dr Mohd Puad Zarkashi said Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad should just rest.
He said Dr Mahathir was willing to participate in a demonstration infront of Istana Negara yesterday just to remain relevant.
"After the extraordinary surprise he initiated in the 14th General Election, Tun's image has steadily declined. He formed Pejuang, but eventually lost his deposit in Langkawi," said Puad.
He also questioned whether Dr Mahathir is suffering from 'political Alzheimer's'.
"A Press conference two days ago demonstrated Tun's lack of coherence, possibly due to the pressure of (his son) Mirzan being investigated," said Puad in a posting on his Facebook page.
He said the two-time prime minister has achieved many successes in the past, including toppling the BN government.
"That's enough, Tun. Let Mukriz and the other young leaders continue his legacy. Just rest."
