KUALA LUMPUR: Pakatan Harapan stands firm in its commitment to driving reform in the government, said Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail.
He said criticism against reform efforts, which is often made based on PH's promises when it was in the opposition, should be balanced with the bigger picture of the government's endeavours.
He said many reform initiatives were in motion, refuting calls for more concerted efforts.
"What matters is that we focus on the same reform agenda. If we cannot achieve all, do not say that we are not doing anything at all.
"Matters are being handled by Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Law and Institutional Reform) Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said. The government is committed to separating the powers of the attorney-general from the public prosecutor.
"All of these are in our plans. We consistently emphasise the importance of combating corruption.
"However, when the government emphasises these issues, the opposition responds by claiming revenge and selective prosecution. Regardless, I truly do not care," he told 'Mingguan Malaysia'.
Saifuddin gave an assurance that the government remained dedicated to its commitments.
Compared with past administrations, he said, PH was at the forefront of driving reform, aiming to steer Malaysia towards a positive trajectory.
He cited as an example PH's efforts to reform parliamentary institutions, such as Parliamentary Select Committees and the Public Accounts Committee.
