Sg Bakap by-election: PH component parties given specific areas for campaigning

NIBONG TEBAL: Each component party in Pakatan Harapan has been given specific areas for campaigning in the Sungai Bakap by-election, Parti Amanah Negara president Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu said.

He said the instructions came from the respective party's own leadership.

"In Amanah's case, our focus is in Sungai Duri, being a Malay-majority area.

"Besides ceramah kelompok, we also have meet-ups with the locals as well as house-to-house visits," he told newsmen when met at the Jom Masak Menu Sihat Citarasa Peladang @ PPK Tasek programme at Dewan MPKK Tasek Cempedak,

Simpang Ampat.

He was asked why component parties in PH were seen campaigning separately instead of doing so together.

Today is the fifth day of campaigning for the Sungai Bakap by-election.

The by-election, set for July 6, will see a straight fight between PH's Dr Joohari Ariffin and Perikatan Nasional's Abidin Ismail.

Meanwhile, Mohamad said the momentum was on the rise although he could not make any prediction at present.

"Everything is progressing smoothly. The election machinery within the unity government is also seen as working well," he added.

Mohamad expressed hope for a high voter turnout.
