Pas to decide on candidate, use of logo in Nenggiri polls

KOTA BARU: Pas hasn't decided whether to use the party logo in the Nenggiri by-election on Aug 17.

Kelantan Pas Deputy Commissioner III Datuk Dr Mohamed Fadzli Hassan said the decision on the choice of candidate and use of logo would be made by the top leadership.

"We will accept whomever is chosen by the top leadership.

"Using the Pas logo in previous elections was accepted by the people."

Election Commission chairman Datuk Seri Ramlan Harun said the nomination of candidates and early voting would be held on Aug 3 and Aug 13, respectively.

The Kelantan state assembly had declared the seat vacant on June 19 following the cessation of former assemblyman Mohd Azizi Abu Naim's membership in Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia.

Azizi is also the Gua Musang member of parliament.

Earlier, Fadzli, who is Kelantan deputy menteri besar, officiated at the launch of the Kelantan Dinar Dirham operations branch and savings campaign for state civil servants here.

He said in 2008, the state government had established Kelantan Gold Trade Sdn Bhd under the Kelanan State Chief Minister's Corp to implement the state's economic agenda of reintroducing the sunnah currency system to ummah.
