Review PN membership if you're unhappy over logo, SAPP told

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) could review its position should it be unhappy with the decision for Perikatan Nasional (PN) to contest in Sabah elections using the coalition's logo.

Sabah PN chief Datuk Seri Dr Ronald Kiandee said that SAPP is still part of the coalition, following the party president Datuk Yong Teck Lee's recent statement that it would contest using Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) logo instead.

"However, Yong Teck Lee has not attended the PN Supreme Council meeting for quite some time now.

"I think the decision to contest using the Perikatan Nasional logo in Sabah was decided quite some time ago.

"So, that is why I said, if he is not happy, then he can review his position," he said during a press conference at Sabah International Convention Centre here.

Yong was reported as saying that SAPP remained steadfast in its stance that the party was with the PN coalition at the national level while it remained with GRS at the state level.

He had also said that he had asked the PN to stay away from the upcoming state election.

Present were Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia deputy president Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu, secretary-general Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainuddin and vice-president Datuk Dr Radzi Jidin.
