KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Perikatan Nasional will contest using the party logo in the upcoming state election.
State PN chief Datuk Seri Dr Ronald Kiandee said the decision had been made by the leadership at the national level.
"We are not strangers to competing using the Perikatan Nasional logo in Sabah. During the last general election, even (Datuk Seri) Hajiji Noor had also used the logo," he said during a press conference at the Sabah International Convention centre (SICC) here.
Present were Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia deputy president Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu, secretary-general Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainuddin and vice-president Datuk Dr Radzi Jidin.
The Beluran member of parliament said there was a coalition championing "Sabah for Sabahans", but when they won the election, they had used the Perikatan Nasional logo.
"Sabah is not about your brand of politics. But Sabah needs a government that can raise the issue that is being faced by the people. The issue of water, the issue of lights, the issue of roads, the issue of floods.
"It is not about Sabah for Sabahans. But (it is about) the leaders who can handle the issues that are being faced by the people.
"We are open. We don't have a problem with the anti-Semenanjung sentiment that is spreading. Sabah people are also mature to see which leaders should be looked up to."
Meanwhile, Ronald said there had not been any decision whether he would contest in the upcoming state election.
Sabah Bersatu has about 600 branches in the state and 22 divisions.
