GUA MUSANG: Felcra Bhd chairman Datuk Ahmad Jazlan Yaakub today denied that he had sold a factory belonging to the agency to a non-bumiputera party as claimed by Perikatan Nasional (PN).
He said that the allegations allegedly hurled against him by PN in its campaign for the Nenggiri by-election was a huge slander.
"The allegation made by an individual hired by the party aimed to tarnish my image as BN operations director for the Nenggiri by-election.
"I never sold the factory as claimed. Don't say I did it. I never even sold a single screw from Felcra's factory during my tenure as chairman.
"Following this, l have lodged a report at Gua Musang police station recently. I also asked my lawyer to send a summons notice against the individual involved yesterday (Thursday)," he said after a meeting with Kesedar settlers in Renok Baru here today (Friday).
Present were Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, Umno secretary-general Datuk Dr Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki and Kesedar chairman Datuk Zawawi Othman.
Commenting further, Jazlan challenged the opposition leaders to lodge a report with the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) if the allegations were true.
"I also would like to ask the MACC to open an investigation if it receives a report from PN on the allegations.
"I am not afraid because I am on the right side. I give them seven days to lodge the report to MACC," he said.
The Kelantan Barisan Nasional chairman also said he was willing to step down as Felcra chairman if the allegations were true.
In his speech, Jazlan also challenged the Kelantan government to sell its land here to Felcra so that the agency's settlers could explore and develop it.
He said he would write a letter to Menteri Besar Datuk Mohd Nassuruddin Daud on the matter soon.
He said Felcra had decided to buy the land after realising that the state government could not resolve the settlers' land grant issue.
"Felcra is willing to pay the land premium if land can be given to Felcra and South Kelantan Development Authority (Kesedar) settlers. The state government just informed us on the total land size," he added.
