Kelantan BN leader says PN promising the moon and stars

GUA MUSANG: Perikatan Nasional, especially Pas have been promising the moon and the stars to attract Nenggiri voters for the by-election.

However, Kelantan BN chairman Datuk Ahmad Jazlan Yaakub said their promises were never fulfilled.

"It is normal for them to make such promises particularly during election season, but they never kept to their promises.

"This time, I could see that Nenggiri folk will not fall for their tactics anymore. I could see the signal given by the voters," he said.

Asked whether he was satisfied with the work by the party machinery fn the campaign, Jazlan, who is Felcra Bhd chairman said so far, they have been performing well.

"We will not dream the stars and moon or a big majority in this election as we realise we are facing a strong (state) government, but we are confident that we will win this time," he added.

Jazlan said he also believes that BN candidate Mohd Azmawi Fikri Abdul Ghani was ready to face the candidate from Perikatan Nasional, Mohd Rizwadi Ismail, this Saturday.

On Orang Asli voters, he said there are five polling districts with voters from this community in Nenggiri.

"There are more than 1,000 voters in these five polling districts including in the traditional Orang Asli villages."

He hoped that the Orang Asli will retain their support for BN.

The Nenggiri by-election will seeing a straight fight between BN candidate Mohd Azmawi Fikri Abdul Ghani and Perikatan Nasional's candidate Mohd Rizwadi Ismail.

The by-election was called after Kelantan Speaker Datuk Mohd Amar Nik Abdullah, declared the seat, previously held by Mohd Azizi Abu Naim, vacant.

In the Kelantan state election held in August last year, Mohd Azizi won Nenggiri with a narrow majority of 810 votes in a straight fight against a BN candidate.
