GUA MUSANG: Voters came out early to cast their ballots for the Nenggiri state seat by-election.
Among the first to arrive was Zakaria Mamat, who voted at the polling centre in Tabika Sri Bakawali here.
The father of 14 arrived as soon as the polling centre opened at 8 am.
"I am excited to have my voice heard in the by-election. I am so happy that I finally managed to fulfill my responsibility as a Malaysian citizen," he said when met.
Also among the earliest who cast their votes during polling day today are the two candidates contesting in the by-election.
Barisan Nasional candidate Mohd Azmawi Fikri Abdul Ghani was spotted entering a polling centre in Bertam Lama at 8.30am to cast his ballot.
Clad in dark baju batik, the Kelantan Umno youth chief was accompanied by his wife Nur Kamilah Mat Zain, 37.
Norkamila, who is seven-month pregnant, also cast her vote at the same polling centre.
Perikatan Nasional candidate Rizwadi Ismail also cast his ballot at the same polling centre.
Accompanied by his wife Che Mariam Che Noh, Rizwadi, fondly known as Ustaz Wadi, arrived at the polling centre at 8.40am.
