GUA MUSANG: Akmal Haikal Aliyasok is excited that he woke up as early as 6am for the "big day" today.
The Nenggiri by-election marks the first time that the 18-year-old will cast his vote.
"This was a new experience for me. It is my first time to vote in an election," he said when met at a polling centre in Bertam Lama here today.
Akmal Haikal said he arrived at the polling centre at 8.15am.
"After performing the Subuh prayers, l immediately went to the polling centre.
"I have waited for more than one hour before l was allowed to cast my vote," said Akmal, who is the second among five children.
Prior to today, Akmal said he had been having many discussions with his sibling on the by-election.
'They have been telling me the importance of fulfilling my responsibility as a voter," he said.
