Ramli: 90.6pct of Orang Asli in Nenggiri express support for BN

GUA MUSANG: About 90.6 percent of the Orang Asli in Nenggiri have expressed their support to Barisan Nasional in yesterday's by-election.

Orang Asli Settlement Security and Development committee chairman Datuk Dr Ramli Mohd Nor said the information was derived from five polling district centres in the constituency.

They are Tohoi, Sungai Puain, Jenera, Simpor and Sungai Wias.

"I would like to congratulate Barisan Nasional machinery and all parties who helped BN to win Nenggiri state by-election yesterday.

"Also thank you, Nenggiri voters, especially the Orang Asli community for supporting BN.

"Similar appreciation to Deputy Prime Minister and Umno president Datuk Seri Dr (Ahmad) Zahid Hamidi and Pahang BN chairman Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail for trusting me to help BN's campaigning in the Orang Asli settlements," he said in a Facebook posting​.

Ramli, who is the deputy Dewan Rakyat speaker, said he also would like to congratulate Kelantan BN chairman Datuk Seri Ahmad Jazlan Yaakub and his team for their hard work that resulted in BN capturing Nenggiri from Perikatan Nasional.

"For BN Nenggiri assemblyman Mohd Azmawi Fikri Abdul Ghani fondly known as Awi, l wish him good luck in fulfilling his responsibility as a representative of the people.

"Nenggiri's voice must be raised loudly in the Kelantan state assembly," said the Cameron Highlands member of parliament.

A total of 20,245 people, including 2,560 Orang Asli have cast their votes in the Nenggiri by-election.
