KOTA KINABALU: Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) has hinted at continuing its collaboration with Pakatan Harapan (PH) Sabah for the 17th Sabah State Election.
Its chairman, Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor, said he had informed Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim of this decision.
"Others, we'll consider. If their thinking is good and not irrational, we'll evaluate because what we want is progress. As Chief Minister, I prioritise unity.
"That's why I formed GRS, comprising eight component parties. Even though some are smaller parties that did not win in the last state election, my intention was noble — to unite us.
"Let's learn from past lessons. My mission now is to foster goodwill, bring party leaders together, and ensure collaboration. It's not easy and is exhausting, but InsyaAllah, they have committed to GRS," he said in a statement.
Hajiji, who is also the Gagasan Rakyat president, said he had also informed Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Zahid Hamidi of GRS's strong position heading into the next state election.
He urged party members to strengthen unity and focus on preparations for the upcoming election.
"October marks the end of this government's term. This means we can dissolve the state assembly before or during that time."
