KOTA BELUD: The Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) coalition will field its candidate for the Usukan constituency during the upcoming state election.
GRS Usukan division chief Datuk Japlin Akin said that the representative from the coalition would be the most suitable to be in the constituency.
Japlin, who was a former Usukan assemblyman, said GRS has made extensive preparations and is committed to moving forward, ensuring the seat will be theirs.
"We will not compromise. We are determined to ensure that Usukan belongs to GRS in the next election. This is our stance.
"Through GRS representation, the issues and needs of the people in Usukan will be better addressed, and existing facilities will be further enhanced," he said in a statement.
Sabah Barisan Nasional (BN) has moved ahead by naming a second candidate to contest in the state election.
In November last year, Sabah Barisan Nasional named incumbent Usukan assemblyman and Sabah Umno treasurer Datuk Seri Salleh Said Keruak to defend his seat.
