IBE-UiTM, Bank Islam outcome-based training partnership

LETTERS: The Institute of Business Excellence, Universiti Teknologi MARA (IBE UiTM), along with Bank Islam Malaysia Bhd (BIMB), held a signing ceremony for training partnership nearly two weeks ago.

With the signing of this agreement, IBE UiTM will officially begin their strategic training partnership with BIMB over a period of two years, commencing January 2021 till end of December 2022.

The primary focus is on outcome-based training such as Certified in Quantitative Risk Management (CQRM), a global certification program that aimed at managers, directors, professional, and analysts of the governmental bodies, business, financial and academic sectors who are interested in acquiring up to date and practical knowledge in risk management from a quantitative approach to measure risks and make decisions.

It combines theory and practice, case studies and applications, ideas and techniques that help professionals to manage their own learning and growth and to perform competently in their day-to-day activities as outcome-based learning.

Therefore, CQRM was endorsed by many notable institutions such as Project Management Institute (PMI), Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts (ICFA), Institute of Risk Management (IRM), American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), The Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE) and Energy Institute (EI) for additional professional development units.

Professor Dr Jaafar Pyeman (IBE UiTM director) said: "We would like to thank Bank Islam for the opportunity and good faith in IBE; it serves as a great milestone and we look forward for a robust and enduring partnership between IBE and Bank Islam with more great years to come.

"As we accelerate towards digitalisation and data-driven industry, having not just risk management but a quantitative risk based thinking mindset in CQRM creates more employment opportunity for the growth of the nation, and we are pleased to begin the journey with Bank Islam in championing CQRM in Malaysia as well as Southeast Asia."

The signatories for the agreement were Jaafar and Mohd Muazzam Mohamed (Chief Executive Officer of BIMB). It was witnessed by Iskandar Shah Zulkarnain (Chief Human Resources Officer of BIMB), Mizan Masram, (Chief Business Officer of BIMB), Associate Professor Dr Khirzan Bazli A Rahman (Deputy Director of IBE UiTM) and Dr Raziff Jamaluddin (Head of Retail Excellence and Consultancy of IBE UiTM).
