JOHOR BARU: The Johor Property Expo 2023 (JPEX 2023) will feature over 30,000 residential units developed by more than 50 well-established property developers.
Johor Housing and Local Government committee chairman Datuk Mohd Jafni Mohd Shukor said the inaugural JPEX 2023 was open to all segments of society, offering housing options for the B40, M40 and T20 income groups.
"This property expo is unique as it includes various housing types, affordable to all income groups. The price range would fulfil the affordability range for the B40, M40 and T20 income groups," he said.
"There will be 26 housing projects under the Johor Affordable Housing Scheme or Rumah Mampu Milik Johor (RMMJ) with 5,363 units priced below RM150,000 throughout the state, that will be offered during JPEX 2023.
"We will also be offering 1,100 units under the People's Housing Project (PPR) in Tiram and Permas, and 408 units under the Bangsa Johor Transit Homes scheme or better known as the Rumah Transit Bangsa Johor (RTBJ) in Kempas, Bandar Putra and Iskandar Puteri," he said.
Jafni said there will be more than 15,000 Bumiputera lots, covering nearly 750 projects, with over 10,000 independent real estate market properties.
The four-day JPEX 2023 is scheduled to take place from July 27-30, at Padang Akasia in Bandar Baru Uda, Johor Baru.
There will be about 70 exhibition booths — 50 property developers, 13 government agencies and eight financial institutions, all under one roof to provide visitors with advisory services, financial planning and information required.
JPEX 2023, organised by the Johor State Housing Development Corporation, aims to attract more than 100,000 visitors during the four-day expo.
The targeted visitors would include the B40 and M40 groups, first-time homebuyers, RMMJ applicants, Bumiputera lot buyers, civil servants, private sector employees and self-employed individuals.
"The expo is not exclusively for Johoreans, we welcome eligible buyers and visitors nationawide and also visitors from Singapore and Indonesia," Jafni said.
The Johor State Housing Development Corporation is offering various initiatives and incentives for JPEX 2023 visitors, including a 50 per cent discount on RMMJ ownership registration and a 50 per cent reduction in the payment for Bumiputera Lot Ownership Certificates.
Jafni said JPEX 2023 aligns with the state government's intention to provide opportunities for its eligible residents to purchase RMMJ houses or Bumiputera lots.
"Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi, in his Johor 2023 Budget speech last year, announced the state's initiative under the People's Housing Development Strategy to organise a property expo.
"This expo is aimed at boosting the sales of all types of properties, including unsold ones.
"JPEX 2023 would serve as a platform for knowledge and information for the public while further bolstering the state's housing sector," Mohd Jafni said, adding that the state government wants every Johorean to own a house.
