ALOR SETAR: The men’s national team give Myanmar a badminton lesson after defeating them 5-0 in the second group match at the Asia Team Championship at the Sultan Abdul Halim Stadium here earlier today.
National men’s singles player, Lee Zii Jia won the first point for Malaysia after defeating Phone Pyae Naing 21-3, 21-10, followed by Soong Joo Ven who delivered the second point by dispatching Aung Myo Htoo 21-9, 21-7.
Iskandar Zulkarnain Zainuddin then confirmed Malaysia’s victory after he beat Chan Win Hoo 21-10, 21-10.
First doubles Ong Yew Sin-Teo Ee Yi then overcame Arkar Phone Myat-Hein Si Thu Toe 21-5, 21-5, while second doubles Goh Sze Fei-Nur Izzuddin Rumsani also had little resistance as they saw off Aung Myo Htoo-Chan Win Oo challenge by winning 21-12, 21-9.
