KUALA LUMPUR: Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) didn't show any rustiness on their return from the international break as they whipped Penang 5-0 in a Super League match today.
The defending champions scored through Oscar Arribas (third minute), Jorge Obregon (41st and 49th) Bergson Da Silva's spot kick (65th) and Arif Aiman Hanapi's spotkick (90th+4) at the Sultan Ibrahim Stadium.
The Southern Tigers have now collected 25 points from nine matches in the 13-team standings, thanks to seven wins and one draw, while Penang are seventh with 10 points.
JDT will next take on Kelantan Darul Naim, who will use the Sultan Ibrahim Stadium as their home ground on Sept 22, as the Sultan Muhammad IV Stadium in Kota Baru is unavailable due to pitch upgrading works.
