KUALA LUMPUR: Kajang United BC and Perling BC were crowned champions in their respective categories at the Aeon Credit Junior Purple League at House of Champions in Cyberjaya on Sunday.
Kajang wrapped up their Under-18 campaign in style, securing the most number of points (176-122) in the grand final.
Kajang head coach Fung Seng was delighted with his team's form throughout the competition.
"We have been preparing for this tournament since last year. I am glad that the players did well."
Fung Seng commended the Malaysia Purple League (MPL) for staging this tournament
"This is a good platform for young shuttlers to improve their game," he said.
Perling clinched the Under-15 title by beating Butterworth BC 10-7.
MPL chief operating officer Ho Khek Mong, who was present at the venue, commended the finalists.
"I would like to congratulate the players who participated today (Sunday). They have indeed raised the bar for future MPL competitions."
Khek Mong also thanked the participating teams and for growing together with the MPL.
A total of 38 teams participated in this year's Junior Purple League.
